Tunnel Hill Congregation Celebrates 150 Years

Stassi Cramm, Community of Christ prophet-president, spoke to the Tunnel Hill Congregation in Illinois, USA, as part of its 150th-anniversary celebration August 10. 

Before a full house, she spoke on “Steadfast in Faith, Enduring Love.” 

Tammy Austin, Brush Creek USA Mission Center president, also spoke as the congregation was joined by guests from across the area and beyond. 

The crowd was welcomed by the pastor, High Priest Glenn Webb, who provided a responsive call to worship. Jim Dougherty, a seventy, gave the invocation. Brenda Coop, Natalie and Jim Dougherty, and Greg Webb presented “Song of Fellowship” as a ministry of music. 

Before a full house, she spoke on ‘Steadfast in Faith, Enduring Love.’

The hymn of gathering was “Lord, Thou Hast Brought Us to This Place,” accompanied by Rosemary Rouse on organ. 

Natalie Dougherty sang “The Lord’s Prayer” hymn. 

Elder Barbara Watkins presented a historical perspective, and Elder Eric Martin shared “A Testimony of Dreams and Faith.” 

Memories: A Historical Video, was produced by Daniel Martin. It featured photos and interviews with long-gone members remembered for their faith and service. 

The hymn of benediction, “The Spirit of God, like A Fire Is Burning” (Community of Christ Sings 384) was sung by the congregation. 

Following the benediction, a bountiful potluck dinner was served.
