Today in our prayers for the people of Azerbaijan.

Prayer for Peace

Gracious, unspeakably holy, and merciful creator:

We long for you to be glorified by our thoughts, words,

behaviors, and our songs of praise.

You created us in your image and yet, our lord and king,

we fall short of living according to your commandments.

Make us feel and know that we are forgiven as we bear witness to

you of our known deeds of offense. And we ask that you
bring to our awareness the shortcomings and failures
we are unaware of as we go about our daily lives.

Remind us to pray always and to never lose the connection you

placed within us at the time you created us.

Allow us to consciously always be mindful of the glorious

giftedness you placed within us—and to be thankful for
the gifts in our lives and of those in others.

Help us to purposely order our lives, allowing time and prayer

and energy to fulfill the purposes you have called and
equipped us each to complete during our lives.

Bestow in us the awareness that all people are equally loved

by you. When we come into verbal or written or
the personal presence of any person, ignite within us
the spark to joyfully acknowledge them as we would
wish to be noticed. May we never appear to others as
though we believe we are more unique, skilled or
gifted than they.

Help us see with clear vision and assist in

helping other brothers and sisters to become aware
of their giftedness so they may have opportunities
to respond with grace and dignity and intelligence,
to uplift others in your name. And in so doing,
may we each glorify you forever and ever in the
name of the one who gave his life that all
may have life: Jesus, Savior of humankind.
