Prayer for Peace

God who made us, God who loves us, God who keeps us, place your peace and love in our hearts and let it touch all who enter our lives. Let it spread through us into our churches, our communities, our world, and throughout creation!

Let your peace fill the hearts of those who hate, those who tear down, and those who destroy the beautiful world you created and the people in it. Fill them—and us—with sincere contrition for our sinfulness, compassion for one another, and a longing for you, Jesus.

We come to you weak and wounded, but in our weakness, you are our strength; in our despair, you are our hope; in our sadness, you are our unfailing joy.

As we go forth into this day fortified by the peace and love you give through your mercy and grace, we know with all our being that “all shall be well.”

Through Christ, present with us and with all the saints, we pray. Amen.
