Prayer for Peace

God who journeys with us,

As I travel the pathway toward your reign of peace, may my heart be led by peace. Be present with me so that I may be mindful of my thoughts, actions, words, and behaviors.

May my interactions with others be in peace. Be watchful with me, that I might notice when I have caused bitterness or harm, and take steps to be reconciled to others.

May my resources be spent for peace. Be attentive to me so that I may be responsible for what I buy, consume, and throw away.

May my participation in community bring peace. Be observant with me, that I may be aware of where and when I might bear peace amid conflict, light where it is dark, and compassion where there is suffering.

God who journeys with us,

Be in me as I travel the pathways of your peace.
