Prayer for Peace

Living God, we pray to you knowing that some enjoy places of relative comfort; knowing that others live where violence, poverty, and war are daily facts of life. Grant your presence to be with all in their struggles for peace and justice.

Through Jesus Christ, you have shown us what it means to be a disciple. Grant us wisdom to see those places we are go as we strive to be disciples of peace and keepers of righteousness. When we must make choices that take us on unknown, unfamiliar paths, hold us in your arms of comfort and courage.

O God, strengthen our concern for one another. Teach us to live together in love, gently helping one another along the way. Be our guide on the journey toward a peaceable humankind. With all your children, make us equal partners in mission.

We ask in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
