Prayer for Peace

Creator of all that is right and good,

We come before you with bowed heads, uplifted hands, and humbled hearts.
We thank you for the gift of your loving Holy Spirit and ask that those gathered in this sacred place, may feel its comfort and strength flowing from heart to heart.

There are so many challenges in life. We need your comforting, peaceful presence to guide and sustain us. These include natural disasters, family unrest, wars, prejudice, abuse, poverty, sickness and diseases, and injustices of all kinds.

You know our hearts this day, Lord. Each of us walks a different path in life, but we pray for your arms of peace and love to continue to surround us. Let us be strong in our pursuits and pray for peace for all.

Help us find inner peace and work together, recognizing the worth of all persons. Let us build communities of joy, hope, love, and peace. Let us unite to make your kingdom of peace, Zion, a reality wherever we worship and serve you.

In and through the name of Jesus Christ, the prince of peace, we do pray. Amen.
