Prayer for Peace

God Beyond Borders,

We pray for the leaders of the nations, and those who are in power, to be given the wisdom and understanding, and the desire to serve you, and to serve the people of the world in ways that will bring an end to the suffering that we see around us. And in ways that will unite the nations in peace and prosperity, and love toward one another.

And help us, God, to stop the pollution and reckless use of the natural resources that have been given to us. Show us ways to use them wisely and sparingly so that all might benefit from them.

And show us ways that we might care for one another so that there will no longer be the homeless, and the hungry, and those who do not know you.

Help us to have the faith and courage to go forth with the message of your great love and compassion toward all of humankind, and toward all your creation, so that each one will come to know you.

And in knowing you we pray that our hearts and minds might be given to you completely so that we might be instruments in your hands to bring about the salvation of this world.

We pray that in our desire to serve you, the dark forces that we see about us will be banished, and that truth, and light, and joy in your service will abound and that the world will be cleansed of all its filthiness and sorrow that humankind has brought upon it, and that we might serve one another with joy in our souls and peace in our hearts.

We pray in the name of your son, Jesus. Amen.
