Prayer for Peace

We pray as imperfect human beings who daily fail to live up to the peaceful purposes for which we were created. We acknowledge the deep pain and suffering of this world and our role in it. We pray especially for the people of Togo.

May they be blessed with an equitable and just existence and a vision of how peace is possible in their country. As inhabitants of this planet, we confess our selfishness and comfortable ways. So now, we come asking for the insight and wisdom to be unsatisfied and for the energy and enthusiasm to be true peacemakers—for us, for our neighbors, for the nations and peoples inhabiting this globe, and for this planet. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. Amen.
