Prayer for Peace

Today, we come to pray for peace; however, we know to pray for peace without doing peace is hollow. Forgive us for such folly.

Help us be conscious of every act and ask, “Does this act harm or promote peace?”

We hear of fires and floods. Help us commit to the sometimes inconvenient but necessary actions that allow the Earth, its flora and fauna, to heal and flourish.

We see violence and alienation. Help us put self to the side so that others can come into our vision and relationships can heal and flourish.

Help us follow your way and go where you are leading, both far and near. Wherever we are, grant us courage and selflessness to promote peace so all your creation can heal and flourish.

Help us be aware of the many opportunities for peace that are before us every day.
