Prayer for Peace

Peacemaker God,
Make us instruments of your peace.

Where there is trauma, grant us calm to be present
Where there’s indifference, prod our passion for real change
Where there’s injustice, stir our empathy to action
Where there’s inequality, help us first love the least

When there’s tragedy, open our hearts with your compassion
When there’s half-truths, misinformation, waken our reason and love for truth
When violence seems imminent, help us use and choose our words
Because the Earth suffers, teach us new ways of life together

If we’re overwhelmed, draw us close to your Spirit
If we’re distracted, center us now and throughout the day
You are our peace, peacemaker God, forever.
Make us instruments of your peace, we pray.
