Prayer for Peace

Gracious source of peace,

From our heart and with unfailing faith we pray for peace in the world.

As we awaken to each new day, we find our world has strayed further away from your son’s teachings. Our world of instant information constantly makes us aware of this.

Sometimes, it seems humanity is bent on the destruction of self by wars and violence perpetrated on one another.

Please enter the hearts and minds of all the world’s people with such a loving force that we shall have great cause to reexamine the morality of self and change our worldly ways to yours. Make each of us aware that it is only on your course that we can have a productive and peaceful journey in life.

Touch those in positions of authority, leading them to use their sphere of influence to benefit all your children, to lead them away from the sins of humanism, into the love of humankind, and into roles you have, or will establish, for them their life’s path.

Loving creator, being keenly aware that you and only you can change our worldly course, we pray with heavy and concerned hearts and shed tears for the inhumanity that so many of us indulge in every day.

Lift us all to that higher ground where we can course our lives in faith, love, and your holy peace.

We tender our prayer in Christ’s holy and sacred name. Amen.
