Prayer for Peace

God of peace,
thank you for loving me,
for choosing me in some small way
to be part of your plan for peace.

You have validated me,
and lifted me above old fear
and into hope again.

I am but one spark
that flames the mission
to free humanity.

I am but one mind,
whose thoughts can journey
to places I will never see.

I am but one voice,
and yet my words, loosed by my pen,
can speak courageously.

I am but one life
that hopes to speak for peace
through verse of prayer and poetry.

God of peace, transform
the voice of my heart
into a sacred plea for peace.

Let your grace,
that precious gift unearned,
speak through even me. Amen.
