Prayer for Peace

Gathering God,

Our coming here isn’t just as a group of friends getting together. We are a group of disciples responding to your invitation to worship. You have gathered us to express praise and gratitude to you and to proclaim good news. We pray that our response to your invitation glorifies you.

Our prayers for peace for the planet express our gratitude for your creation. We know that our care for that creation doesn’t always reflect the gratitude we feel and we want to do better. Make us aware of ways to bring peace to where there is not peace in creation, where our actions and choices are harmful to the earth. Stir in us the will to make needed changes, in our own lives and our communities.

Thank you for the privilege of worshipping you this morning. Bless our efforts even as we bless you, we pray, in Jesus’s name. Amen.
