Prayer for Peace

Here in this peaceful quiet, Lord, we cannot hear the world’s conflicts with our ears.
But in our hearts we know they continue—causing pain to someone, somewhere; separating people from each other, separating people from you

Make us aware, Lord, of how to fill the gaps with peace.

Give us courage. If we close our eyes to the wars and separate ourselves from the conflicts, we know we will have only an empty, shallow peace. The long-lasting peace of Christ can only come with our eyes wide open to reality and the part we must play in your plan for peace.

Help us, Lord, we have a long way to go. We trust in your promise to be with us always and therefore have the hope for a future that embodies Christ’s peace. Amen.
