Prayer for Peace

Gracious God,

We, your children, are filled with promise and hope for peace. As a committed people—we praise your name—Jehovah. You have constantly been the good shepherd and led us to a new, bright horizon.

Your son, Jesus, showed us a new way, a peaceful way to live in your creation. We have felt your spirit as we have celebrated his birth. The peace and optimism of change have been renewed and instilled in our hearts and minds.

Yahweh, in this coming year, assist us to understand that peace is possible. Aid us in remembering and feeling that we are all your children—whether in your Temple or across your creation. Help us to be genuine with each other as we strive anew to achieve your peaceful kingdom on this Earth. In your son’s most holy name, Jesus. Amen.
