Prayer for Peace

Gracious and eternal God,

We come near to you now, recognizing you as a God of infinite love with mysterious power to bless a needy world. We are grateful for your design of the human family where we can learn ways to serve you.

Sometimes our service can become difficult, and we sense that we have failed. We ask for forgiveness and peace. We know from times past that at the point of our greatest need you are always ready to bless us with renewed awareness of our giftedness.

We respond to your forgiveness with restored desire to bring courage, healing, and laughter to our own families and those around us by strengthening our relationships and affirming the worth of persons. Thank you for your patient presence with us. We look expectantly to discover new understandings which empower us to claim victory because of our faith in the leadings of your Spirit. Help us to be agents of reconciliation and hope for the sake of your kingdom.
