Urgent Appeal for Gaza Ceasefire

31 July 2024

In a letter coordinated by Churches for Middle East Peace addressed to US President Joe Biden, Community of Christ, along with over 200 Christian leaders from more than 40 countries, has urged for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the return of hostages, and a halt to arms sales to Israel.

Together with Christian leaders worldwide, we are urging decisive international action to prevent further destruction and loss of innocent lives. Now more than ever, there is a need for courageous leadership to bring about lasting peace in the region.

We invite all to advocate and pray for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

I have deep regret that we are supporting the terriost group who attacked Israel. To end the war Gaza needs to help identify who and where Hamas is and return hostages. Remember 5 to 7 US citizen are still being held in Gaza..

Je suis très content et super fier d'appartenir à cette famille de la communauté du Christ, l'église qui lutte contre la violence et cherche la paix pour tous. L'église qui valorise l'humanité entière.
Que Dieu veille sur les dirigeants et son peuple.

I am saddened by the omission of the continued use of arms against Israel and those that provide them, while vilifying Israel for responding to vicious acts against its citizens. But so many peoples act outraged, hoping that this doesn't happen in their country, and cry out against the original victim. If you really are appalled at the use of weapons, seek true justice, not knee-jerk reactions. Where was your outrage on previous terrorist attacks against Israel, Britain, and the host of other countries from extremists? Where is your outrage when countries incarcerate their pwn citizens with trumped up charges to quell dissent, or not allow all citizens to have access to all the necessities of life, including education? Where is your outrage against commiting outrageous acts in Bosnia, Iran, Russia, China, and the like? Aren't all people created in the same image of God? Or only the ones that you can safely vilify today?
