A new family resource from Community of Christ invites households to reimagine generosity as a daily way of life—not just a financial act. The Generosi-Whatzit Book offers practical, creative ways for families to shift their focus from consumer-driven habits to lives centered on compassion, connection, and purpose.
In a culture that often emphasizes “more,” this interactive resource helps families explore a different rhythm grounded in generosity of spirit, time, and care for others.
Through ten engaging, hands-on activities, families can practice advocacy through neighborhood service, care for creation through reflective outdoor experiences, and nurture relationships through intentional rest and acts of kindness. Financial generosity and hospitality also are reframed through imaginative practices like “reverse shopping sprees” and welcoming others around the table.
The Generosi-Whatzit Book is designed to be experienced. Each activity includes a companion journal page, inviting families to create art and record reflections together. These pages become lasting reminders of shared growth and the impact of small, faithful actions.
Flexible and adaptable, the resource can be used in a variety of settings, including family nights, small groups, or Sunday school classes. Each section includes scripture, guided actions, and reflection questions to help participants connect their experiences to discipleship and the common good.
The Generosi-Whatzit Book is available through Herald House and is coming soon to Amazon.
