Retired NASA scientist Stephen Dunagan will lay some foundations with an overview of solar, wind, geothermal, and nuclear energy as viable alternatives to fossil fuel usage. As an engineer for NASA, he has designed, calibrated, certified, and field-tested first-generation instruments to provide new measurement capabilities for the NASA Earth Science Community. These measurements have aided NASA in analyzing and predicting climate patterns, and understanding the climate emergency. Steve also empowered instrumentation development projects and associated field experiments in Earth Science research, and he supported instrument development for infrared astronomy and the Mars exploration program.
