Community of Christ is calling for prayers following severe flooding in central Nepal. Heavy rainfall and rising water levels in the Bootkoski River and surrounding areas have significantly impacted the area including Nuwakot where we have three congregations: Deurali, Raigaun, and Tupche.

Initial reports indicate that families in Deurali and Raigaun are safe, but several families from Tupche have been seriously affected, with homes and livelihoods damaged or destroyed. Some small businesses were swept away by floodwaters, and communication disruptions have left a few family members out of contact.

We are grateful to report no loss of life among Community of Christ families at this time. However, the situation remains serious, and it is too early to assess the full extent of damage in the broader community.
