Summary of Position
Translates documents of many kinds and provides simultaneous interpretation during online meetings and at events. Other documents such as basic resources, documents for events at International Headquarters, conferences, meetings of the World Church Leadership Council, and more will be included as needed. The position may serve on various sub-teams and may be asked to participate on other teams within the organization. Field ministry is not an expectation for this position. This position is eligible for remote work and travel is required.
Essential Functions
- Produces written translations into the primary language for translation.
- Provides oral interpretation of Spanish to and from English both in-person and online. Occasionally work occurs in evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel to the US and other countries is required.
- Develops personal discipline to produce translated texts in a timely manner.
- Assures that all steps involved in translation occur smoothly.
- Involved in the evaluation of translated documents, appropriate cultural adaptation of translated resources, and the participation in networks among the translations team.
- Develops communication lines with the translators on the team using internet and other technologies.
- Demonstrates ability to participate effectively with a team.

Required Trainings
Registered Youth Worker/Anti-harassment Training: New employees are required to be a registered youth worker with Community of Christ or be able to register within 30 days of hire date. Anti-harassment training is also required within 30 days of hire and then required annually.
