Summary of Position
Interns support the operation of Joseph Smith III’s Liberty Hall in Lamoni, Iowa. lead guided tours as they serve as Historical Interpreters and share Community of Christ and Lamoni, IA area history with the public in an open, honest, and gracious manner. As part of their training, they are introduced to the history of Joseph Smith III and the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that he led for fifty-four years. They are introduced to artifact collection management using Catalogit software and are exposed to archeological principles and practices. The program typically runs from late May to mid-August.
Essential Functions
- Lead walking tours of Joseph Smith III’s Liberty Hall and the Spurrier Schoolhouse.
- Assist in the management of the artifact collection using Catalogit software.
- Participate in the onsite archeology program.

Required Trainings
Registered Youth Worker/Anti-harassment Training: New employees are required to be a registered youth worker with Community of Christ or be able to register within 30 days of hire date. Anti-harassment training is also required within 30 days of hire and then required annually.
