Summary of Position
The Graceland University Campus Minister serves as the Director of Spiritual and Religious Life on the Lamoni campus. In this role, the position carries out all spiritual and religious life objectives as defined by Community of Christ and Graceland University. The position reports to the Vice-President for Student Life/Dean of Students in its responsibilities related to Graceland University and reports to a member of the USA Apostolic Team as part of their functional assignment. The Campus Minister supervises the Student Help Desk Coordinator, the Graduate Assistant for Campus Ministries and Campus Chaplains, a team of student ministers and leaders responsible for specific programs and services; advises the Council of House Chaplains and its president as part of Graceland Student Government; and oversees InSpire, the Community of Christ Leadership Program. The Campus Minister coordinates homecoming worship and baccalaureate, teaches religion courses, and serves on teams, committees, task forces, and in other capacities as mutually agreed upon based on skills, giftedness, and interests. The Campus Minister serves as the pastor/presiding officer for the Graceland University congregation (non-geographical) which functions also as a mission center within the Community of Christ network.
Essential Functions

Community of Christ Minister and Leader
- Strong personal testimony of Jesus Christ; active member of Community of Christ, Melchesidic priesthood required; and unwavering commitment to the Community of Christ identity, message, mission, and beliefs.”
- Selects, develops, mentors, and supervises all students associated with Community of Christ worship and ministries on campus.
- Develops a shared leadership practice with the Graduate Assistant for Campus Ministries and all student leaders and ministers associated with campus ministries.
- Provides preaching and teaching ministries on campus modeling excellent public ministry aligned with Community of Christ identity, mission, message, and beliefs.
- Provides for ministry and priesthood education, including administration and education related to children’s and youth worker registration.
- Serves as pastor and congregational financial officer for the Graceland University congregation, including oversight of related functions of congregational recorder, historian, and secretary.
- Provides regular communications with Community of Christ students on the Lamoni campus.
- Provides reports and communications to Community of Christ supervising minister and other teams as assigned.
- Provides supervision, guidance, leadership and mentoring for the Graduate Assistant assigned to Campus Ministries.
- Attends Community of Christ World Church, mission center, and congregational events to bring ministry and to promote both Community of Christ and Graceland.
- Coordinates the Graceland University-based podcast to members and friends of the Community of Christ (a.k.a. Faith Unfiltered).
Campus Minister/Director of Spiritual and Religious Life
- Serves as the Director of Spiritual and Religious Life as part of the Student Life team.
- Serves as the advisor to the Council of House Chaplains and its president as part of the Graceland Student Government.
- Coordinates Campus Ministries budgeting and accounting functions.
- Provides pastoral care/counseling to Graceland students.
- Provides personal budgeting advising and offer financial assistance to students on the Lamoni campus related to basic living needs.
- Coordinates Campus Chaplains, student employees serving in ministry and leadership positions as part of campus ministries (including hiring, managing, payroll, and supervision).
- Provides ministry leadership for homecoming worship, baccalaureate and other meetings, gatherings, and events.
- Works with Graceland Admissions and the Summer Rep program to help recruit students to Graceland and to the InSpire program.
- Stewards assigned facilities and equipment including meeting and worship space, offices, storage, furniture; and audio-visual equipment and musical instruments.
InSpire Program Coordinator
- Provides administrative oversight and ministerial leadership for InSpire, the Community of Christ Leadership Program.
- Provides for student invitation, selection, participation, progress and recognition.
- Administers the program budget and accounting functions.
- Creates a syllabus each semester for the academic requirements of the InSpire practicum and selects educational content for each course session that reinforces identity, mission, message, and beliefs of the Community of Christ.
- Processes, evaluates, and maintains forms and records for the retired Community of Christ Leadership Program loan deferment and cancellation process as needed.
- Strategically evaluates and adapts the InSpire program based on future missional needs of Community of Christ and student interests.

Required Trainings
Registered Youth Worker/Anti-harassment Training: New employees are required to be a registered youth worker with Community of Christ or be able to register within 30 days of hire date. Anti-harassment training is also required within 30 days of hire and then required annually.
