Summary of Position
The Coastal Bend USA Mission Center, located along the eastern coastline of Texas/Louisiana and into central Texas, is seeking a full-time minister who will contribute to the expansion and revitalization of the mission center and its congregations. The Expansion and Revitalization Minister will be solely focused on providing ministry with a concentration initially in the Houston area for the first year and then expanding to all areas of the Mission Center. The minister will need to be comfortable meeting new people of all ages, genders, races, economic levels, and others marginalized outside the walls of the church with the ability to establish rapport, foster inclusiveness, and share witness in various community settings.
Essential Functions
- Attends Coastal Bend USA Mission Center President’s team meetings when requested and will be a member of the Coastal Bend USA Mission Center Leadership Team
- Resides in the greater Houston area and serves approximately 50% of the time with the Pastor/Pastorate of at least one congregation in the Houston area (in the first year)
- Expands ministry (after the first year) by preaching, sharing testimonies, teaching classes, and visiting members throughout the Mission Center
- In coordination with Pastors/Pastorates, participates in the generation and initiation of plans for ministry
- Advises, collaborates, mentors, and supports congregations and leaders on missional opportunities
- Attends and participates in Mission Center activities such as Family Reunions, Youth Camps, Retreats, and Conferences
- Maintain a regular schedule of ministry including posted office hours, travel schedule, and other availability

- Currently serving as a Seventy, Elder, Priest or High Priest in Community of Christ
- Exceptional ability to meet new people and be comfortable with all ages, genders, races, economic levels, and others marginalized outside the walls of the church
- Exceptional skill, passion, and ability to minister to younger generations
- Exceptional ability to be nimble and responsive to the changing needs and trends of disciples of the broader Christian faith in the 21st Century
- Strong preaching and teaching skills
