Summary of Position

Maintains buildings and grounds, promotes the campground, maintains a positive relationship with community, clients, and volunteers. Manages competing and rapidly changing priorities.

Essential Functions

  1. Responsible for day-to-day operation of and custodial care of structures and property which includes keeping restroom and dining hall supplies installed in dispensers while clients are on site.
  2. Manages employees and volunteers.
  3. All facilities must be kept safe, clean, and in good working order.
  4. Checks in clients and checks out clients to assure buildings and grounds are left in useable condition for the next client.
  5. Oversees campground marketing, scheduling including billing and receipt of rental and other fees. Invoices for camps must be submitted no later than one (1) week from the end of the camp.
  6. Maintains calendar for campgrounds via Google Calendar that Campground Board members have access to view.
  7. Maintains records and accounting documents. Monthly expense reports with accompanying receipts are due to the CFO no later than the 15th of the following month that expenses occurred. Expenses are limited to campground supplies and campground maintenance items. Other expenses must be approved by the supervisor.
  8. Requires overnight presence on site while clients are on the grounds. Overnight presence is required but can be filled in by a volunteer when no clients are on the grounds. Overnight volunteers are required to be a registered youth worker with Community of Christ. Overnight absences by the caretaker/business manager will be coordinated with the supervisor.
  9. Provides oral reports of activities completed and projected activities to the Campground Board at board meetings that take place approximately monthly. These meetings are on Zoom.
  10. Meets with the supervisor every two weeks to check in and address concerns or questions in day-to-day operations. These meetings are on Zoom.
  11. Inputs daily hours worked into the employer’s time management system for payroll purposes. Brief description of work accomplished will also be entered into the system.

Required Competencies/Skills

  1. Ability to operate large equipment, including mowers, tractors and other power equipment
  2. Ability to lift up to 30lbs
  3. Valid State Driver's License
  4. Basic understanding of accounting (accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing)
  5. Ability to communicate professionally both in person and in writing

Desired Competencies/Skills

  1. Sales and Marketing experience
  2. Familiarity/experience doing maintenance on campground equipment (mowers, power tools, etc.)
  3. Familiarity with repair and maintenance of basic plumbing and electrical functions (toilets, sinks, hot water tanks, outlets, lighting, etc.)
  4. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  5. Familiarity with QuickBooks or other accounting software

Required Trainings

Registered Youth Worker/Anti-harassment Training: New employees are required to be a registered youth worker with Community of Christ or be able to register within 30 days of hire date. Anti-harassment training is also required within 30 days of hire and then required annually.
