Summary of Position
Bluff Springs Campground, a ministry of the Community of Christ, is seeking a dedicated and service-minded individual to serve as Campground Caretaker. This essential role supports the campground’s mission to proclaim Jesus Christ and promote communities of joy, hope, love, and peace through camping experiences that foster spiritual growth, fellowship, and personal development for people of all ages. The caretaker will help ensure the property remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all who come seeking renewal and connection.
Essential Functions
- Serves as the primary point of contact for event scheduling and site coordination
- Maintains high standards for cleanliness and readiness of facilities and grounds
- Coordinates with contractors, vendors, and staff for routine and event-based needs
- Monitors food safety practices, kitchen supply inventory, and waste removal
- Conducts inspections, keeps detailed logs, and manages off-season maintenance plans
- Provides excellent customer service to event leaders and campers
- Represents the values of the Community of Christ in conduct and communication
Position Details
- Compensation: Starting $14.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly. While weekly hours may vary due to seasonal camping schedules, the position is expected to average enough hours annually to earn between $22,000 and $27,000. Opportunities for increased compensation may be considered based on growth in campground usage and the successful attraction of new events or customer groups.
- Includes a 3-bedroom house on-site as a primary residence, with free utilities (excluding personal phone/internet/cable).
- Housing includes access to basic living needs in a peaceful, natural setting.
- Must be able to work independently and follow safety, sanitation, and compliance procedures.
- Requires regular reporting to the Board President and coordination with church leadership.
- Caretaker must comply with all applicable State of Florida regulations and Community of Christ policies and requirements, including those related to safety, youth protection, and ethical conduct.

Required Trainings
Registered Youth Worker/Anti-harassment Training: New employees are required to be a registered youth worker with Community of Christ or be able to register within 30 days of hire date. Anti-harassment training is also required within 30 days of hire and then required annually.
