The Presiding Bishopric has released the December 2022 Financial Update. In this update, you’ll find important information about the audit process, worldwide mission budget, mission tithes, Bridge of Hope Tithes, and ongoing efforts to fund services and ministries.
A few highlights:
- The church raised $1,035,167 USD on Giving Tuesday!
- Worldwide Mission Tithes through 30 September 2022 were on track to achieve the minimum side of the church’s 2022 goal range of $11.2 million USD.
- As of 15 November 2022, the church had raised $108.3 million USD toward the $120 million USD Bridge of Hope retirement responsibility goal.
- The fields of Apostle Barbara Carter and Apostle Carlos Mejia have met their Bridge of Hope field targets as of 15 November 2022.
- The 2021 audit report (available in English only) is approved.
- In May 2022, Community of Christ conducted a survey of those under the age of fifty who had an affinity with the church to seek a better understanding of their connection points and ways they might engage with the church. Survey results are available to review.
- In mid-June 2022, the church signed a contract and closed on the first phase of a contractual agreement with North Point for 1,107 acres in Harmony in the Little Blue Valley in Missouri.
- On 4 December 2022, the World Church Finance Board approved the 2023 Worldwide Mission Budget and the 2021 audit report.
- The current financial plan to support current levels of ministries and services through 2024 includes using worldwide mission tithes, designated gifts, endowment spending rates, and budget surplus from previous years.
- In November, the Presiding Bishopric sold the Stebbins Book of Commandments to a private collector for $1.2 million USD. The net proceeds were used to increase the Temple Endowment.
