Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others.
[Excerpted from “Generosity as Reciprocity” by the Mission Development Team (ages 25-45)]
Imagine a tomato plant: it emerges from the soil and bears fruit as a gift, freely offered to all who are hungry. This gift is not an intentional sacrifice; it’s a necessity of life.
The tastier the tomato, the more likely it is to be eaten.
The more likely we are to eat, the more likely the seeds are dispersed.
The seeds may even be saved, cherished, and sowed for generations to come.
As we are given life, we support life in return. Generosity, then, is a sacred relationship. It is an acknowledgement that we are all interconnected.
Let generosity be your response.
Prayer Phrase
“…share abundantly in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8).
From Scarcity to Abundance
Take a deep breath and release your fear of “not enough.” Name one place of scarcity in your life, then name one way you already see abundance. Offer a simple prayer of gratitude: “God, open my eyes to your abundance.”
