Uniquely Vibrant

God is calling for a prophetic community to emerge, drawn from the nations of the world, that is characterized by uncommon devotion to the compassion and peace of God revealed in Jesus Christ. Through divine grace and wisdom, this faith community has been given abundant gifts, resources, and opportunities to equip it to become such a people.

Doctrine and Covenants 163:11

The 2025 World Conference was a remarkable event in the history and mission of the church. The congregation felt the stirrings of a different spirit—one of prophetic imagination and relentless agility. The powerful words of counsel from the new Prophet-President Stassi Cramm called the church to be prepared to go to “uncharted territory” and be the “citizens of God’s new community.”

As a result, the “Damayan Community” was born—a community where everyone is welcomed at the table regardless of tribe, gender, nationality, race, social, economic, or religious status. A community where the worth and dignity of people are upheld. A community where love replaces hate, and joy eliminates sadness.

The challenge to boldly go to uncharted territory ignited the zeal to courageously cross the Kenyan border to Uganda for the first time in the history and life of the church, to explore the possibility of planting a church there—a place where no one had imagined we could do the mission of God due to Uganda’s challenging political history.

We thank God for the breakthrough in Uganda as we hear testimonies of people yearning to be taught the five Mission Initiatives, our Enduring Principles, Identity, Message, Mission, and Basic Faith Beliefs so they can become our members in the future. Indeed, the Pentecost experience is on course, and the Spirit of God is active and life-changing.

The shared leadership model has proven to be a strength as it emphasizes the power of unity in diversity. Diversity of thought emerging from gifted leaders has contributed to uniquely vibrant congregations. This model is helping leaders locally and internationally focus on ministry while discovering their potential and giftedness, propelling the church to greater heights.

The new leadership configuration model has become a blessing, especially to Africa Mission Field 3, through sharing cross-cultural leadership experiences. It has given leaders the opportunity to share the wealth of their religious and cultural experiences based on their contexts, providing a learning opportunity for doing God’s mission in uncharted territories.

The Philippines Dingading Community, working in conjunction with CORD, has done tremendous work in abolishing poverty and ending suffering. They have achieved much by working toward upholding human dignity and the worth of all people.

The Project Funds from the World Hunger initiative have helped transform the lives of people living in arid areas. Sinking a borehole in Lodwar, Kenya, is a miraculous act of restoring hope for people longing for water for livestock and domestic use.

Christ’s Mission, Our Mission!

Prayer Phrase

“a new community…is being born” (Doctrine and Covenants 164:5).

Spiritual Community

Meditate on a time when you experienced true belonging—a moment when someone welcomed you, listened to you, encouraged you, or reminded you that you were not walking the journey of faith alone. Prayerfully consider the qualities that help build a Christ-centered community: hospitality, compassion, forgiveness, patience, courage, joy, and a willingness to walk alongside one another. Offer a prayer of gratitude for the communities that have shaped you and a prayer of commitment to help create spaces where all people can experience the love, peace, and presence of Christ.
