Through the gospel of Christ a new community of tolerance, reconciliation, unity in diversity, and love is being born as a visible sign of the coming reign of God.
Choose Hope: Worship and Sharing Services, Herald House, p. 35, excerpted
Transforming God, when we allow, you continuously transform us into evermore loving and attentive people. By your Holy Spirit, transform our lives into the sacred existence that you would have for us.
May each thought we have reflect valuing of the worth and diversity of persons that we have in our best moments. Help each action we take work toward justice. Help us, O Lord, to be transformative agents for your peace in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Amen.
Prayer Phrase
“Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; persevere in prayer” (Romans 12:12).
Deepening Roots
A tree with superficial roots will wither during drought, or severe storms may uproot it. A tree whose roots go deep is stable and draws from deep waters. Imagine yourself as a tree by a river or stream. Sense your roots extending deep into the earth in search of God’s Spirit. Reflect or pray about what you hope to find as your spirit searches for deeper identity in God.
