You have multiplied, O Lord my God, you wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us; none can compare with you. Were I to proclaim and tell of them, they would be more than can be counted.
From An Invitation to a Whole-Life Journey of Abundant Generosity, p. 8
Receiving and appreciating God’s generosity may begin with attempting to count, tabulate, and collect data. But it never ends there. Not only is God’s generosity beyond measure, it has less to do with how much it is and everything to do with what it reveals and what it does.
The abundance of God’s generosity is all about receiving what is endless and eternal. It brings life, not numbers. True generosity is not a matter of measurement but of its effect and what it transmits. God’s generosity conveys eternal life, which makes us rich beyond measure.
Reflection Question
How have you experienced the wonder of God’s abundant generosity?
Prayer Phrase
“You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity” (2 Corinthians 9:11).
Seeing with Generous Eyes
Sit in silence for a moment and center yourself with a few deep breaths. Reflect on the past day or week. Make a list of five ways you experienced God’s generosity—through people, creation, opportunities, or unexpected grace. After each item, offer a short prayer of thanks: “God of abundance, thank you for this gift.” Conclude with “May I carry this awareness into my day and respond with generosity in return.”
