The poor shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the Lord. May your hearts live forever!
I believe that generosity is a lifestyle in which God always comes first. Generosity is an act of gratitude for all that is in my life. I am always grateful for the opportunity to give back to God freely.
People often ask me if generosity is a universal law that comes from a pure heart. My answer is yes.
Because I am an agronomist, I use nature as an example.
Agronomy is the science and technology of using plants for food, fuel, feed, and fiber. When a tree loses its leaves, the leaves go into the ground and become a form of fertilizer. Then the rain takes the fertilizer to the tree’s roots, and the tree grows stronger. It is simple, and it is a natural law.
This is similar to what happens when we give to God through the church. Community of Christ is comprised of all those who respond to Jesus’ call to live in companionship with other disciples in service to the world.
The sense of joy, trust, and partnership with God that I receive when I contribute…enables me to be in a place of acceptance, peace, and joy despite all the challenges in my life.
Thank you, God, for letting me be Jesus’ coworker through the opportunity to give.
Prayer Phrase
“And all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).
Abundant Blessings
At the close of the day, reflect on where you noticed God’s blessings, especially in unexpected places. Offer a prayer of thanks and try to release any worry, trusting that God’s abundance will meet you again tomorrow.
