Make Us Whole

29 January 2025

And when you do not cry to the Lord, let your hearts be full, drawn out in prayer to him continually for your welfare, and also for the welfare of those who are around you.

Alma 16:222

[From God, Where Is Your Spirit Leading Next? Adult Reunion Resource, Herald House, 2022, p. 11]

A blessing for freedom
For vastness and width and depth
For release, exhale, and breath
For dreams and visions and hopes
For wisdom to pour forth unrestricted
For tenderness and softness of heart
For holding gently and lightly

A blessing for freedom
Not dogged obedience
Not more work to do
Nor wearying demands
But aliveness, fullness, readiness
Wild, holy abandon
To the deep call of God
That promises even now
In the letting go
To make us whole.

Prayer Phrase

“…he has given us a new birth into a living hope” (1 Peter 1:3).

Spiritual Practice

Weaving a Life

Hold, or imagine yourself holding, a piece of patterned cloth. Examine it carefully. Notice overlapping threads mingling colors that form the design. Write a journal entry or meditate about the threads and patterns of your life. What design do you see? How does the life pattern you are weaving create justice and wholeness in God’s world? What new pattern is God calling you to weave in 2025?
