(Regarding) envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these. I am warning you, as I warned you before: those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
God of love, You are the giver of every good gift. Everything we have comes from your loving hands.
Today we ask that you teach us to share with generosity, to have a willing, joyful heart that is sensitive to the needs of others. Remove from us selfishness, fear, and greed. Help us see our blessings as opportunities to bless.
Teach us to give as You give: expecting nothing in return, with sincere love and open hands. May your Holy Spirit transform our hearts so they look more like yours—compassionate, generous, and just.
Thank you, Lord, for your immense generosity toward us. Make us instruments of your goodness. Amen.
Prayer Phrase
“See, I am making all things new” (Revelation 21:5).
Weaving a Life
Hold, or imagine yourself holding, a piece of patterned cloth. Examine it carefully. Notice overlapping threads, mingling colors that form the design. Write a journal entry or meditate about the threads and patterns of your life. What design do you see? How does the life pattern you are weaving create justice and wholeness in God’s world? What new pattern is God calling you to weave?
