Hope is Here

31 May 2025

You who are my disciples must be found continuing in the forefront of those organizations and movements which are recognizing the worth of persons and are committed to bringing the ministry of my Son to bear on their lives.

Doctrine and Covenants 151:9

[Adapted from “Hope Is Here,” by Susan Naylor, Sept/Oct 2024 Herald, pp. 14–15]

World Conference is a time when delegates, families, and friends come together to create community, worship, and manage the church’s business. It’s a time that binds a common past with hopes for a common future peace.

“Hope Is Here.” The World Conference journey of hope begins with our sacred story. It is our history that pushes us forward. Through Communion we turn toward hope, again and again recommitting ourselves to the hope found in Christ.

As new leadership is called and sustained by the body, we will see glimpses of the prophetic spirit already at work. Midweek, we will rest in all the change, breathing in hope. We recognize our journey has not been easy, but as each of us sees the hope-filled vision, we can faithfully choose a hope that leads us onward. The Pentecost story, Acts 2:1–21, will guide our journey.

Prayer Phrase

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for” (Hebrews 11:1).

Praying for Leadership of the Church

An important spiritual practice for disciples is praying for members of the body of Christ, especially those who carry leadership responsibilities. As World Conference unfolds this week, ask God to guide your awareness of people who lead the community of faith in congregations, mission centers, and the World Church. Pray for God’s outpouring of grace on each servant leader who comes to mind.
