God saw everything that [God] had made, and indeed, it was very good.
Scripture Reflection—Genesis 1:1—2:4a
God’s creating activity is not about one moment in time. The role of scripture, and especially the story in Genesis, shows us how God has consistently been moving throughout human history through God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The deeper narrative in this imagery of creation can awaken us to how God’s creating presence is moving and shaping our lives today. When the light of God helps us see how God is present, then what God is creating now is very good.
