Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.
[Excerpted from “Generosity as Reciprocity” by the Mission Development Team (ages 25-45)]
Our culture of consumerism teaches us that scarcity is natural. It convinces us that generosity is a sacrifice. Our faith invites us into a different worldview, grounded in our Enduring Principles.
We believe that all people have inestimable and equal worth.
We believe that God desires wellbeing for all creation.
We believe that diversity creates beauty, not hierarchy.
We believe that compassion and solidarity with the marginalized make us all, individuals and communities, more whole.
In this vision of the world, abundance is natural and human worth is undeniable.
Through the lens of abundance, generosity becomes a reciprocal act of creating abundance.
Prayer Phrase
“…share abundantly in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8).
From Scarcity to Abundance
Take a deep breath and release your fear of “not enough.” Name one place of scarcity in your life, then name one way you already see abundance. Offer a simple prayer of gratitude: “God, open my eyes to your abundance.”
