John F. Glaser
John Glaser is a member of the Community of Christ’s Council of Presidents of Seventy. This diverse council supports and calls for the ministry and mission of the seventy around the globe.
John of Independence, Missouri, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Graceland University in 1985. In 1989, he completed his master’s in urban planning from KU Lawrence and received his Ph.D. in 2000 from Texas A&M University in College Station.
John has served as a Hispanic minister and president of seventy. Before joining the church full-time in 2000, he worked in community development roles in the colonias of South Texas. He was a founding board member of AIRR (Advocates for Immigrant Rights and Reconciliation) in Kansas City.
The Community of Christ has approximately 250,000 members in more than 60 nations. The church’s mission is to “proclaim Jesus Christ and promote communities of joy, hope, love, and peace.”
