Education Requirements

High School Diploma, Additional education is always a plus.

Experience Required/Desired

Experience organizing summer recreation activities for young children, youth, adults and senior citizens. Creativity, Flexibility, Church activity experience, Crafts, Sports, Water Certifications (Lifeguard or boating) Yoga, Music, Acting, Writing and/or Other Talents and skills are desirable. Mainly enthusiasm for serving the Onset Campgrounds Community Summer activity needs.

Number of Hours per Week: 24 hours, 2 activities/day 5 days/week

Summary of Position

Organized, enthusiastic applicants with people skills wanted to fill a 6-week Summer Program Activities Director Position (one week off during Reunion) 20 June - 8 August 2022. Outdoor activities emphasized for young children, youth, adults and seniors on our grounds overlooking a cove in beautiful Onset, MA. Modest housing provided if needed. Crafts, lectures, music events, movie and game nights and other indoor activities also included. Water certifications a plus.

Essential Functions

Develop and distribute a calendar of activities to be organized on the grounds on a weekly basis. Work with Program Director to develop, organize and provide recreational summer activities for young and old on the grounds. Group sports such as pickle ball, tennis, baseball, volleyball, kickball, etc. Crafts projects, campfires, cookouts, water activities depending on certifications available, water slides, water balloons, lectures and musical events are desirable, skit nights, food centered activities, child's garden, sidewalk chalk drawing, sand sculptures, hopscotch, walks, exercise and meditation classes, nature activities, story sharing.

Required Trainings

Registered Youth Worker/Anti-harassment Training: New employees are required to be a registered youth worker with Community of Christ or be able to register within 30 days of hire date. Anti-harassment training is also required within 30 days of hire and then required annually.
