R. PAUL DAVIS
R. Paul Davis, a minister of the Community of Christ, is assigned to the
Southern California USA Mission Center, President and Financial Officer,
effective July 1, 2003.
He holds the priesthood office of high priest. Previous assignments include
president of the Greater Los Angeles Stake and the president and stewardship
commissioner for the Seattle Stake.
Prior to accepting full-time appointment in August 1995, Davis spent fourteen
years as a software engineer for Hewlett-Packard in Loveland, Colorado; Seattle,
Washington; and Boise, Idaho. He was also the previous Boise District President.
Born in London, Ontario, Canada, Davis received a B.S. in economics,
mathematics, and computer science from Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa, in 1981,
receiving a Gold Seal for scholarship. He completed a Master of Arts in Religion
from Park College in 1998.
His other leadership roles in the church include presiding elder of the
Everett, Washington, and Boise, Idaho, congregations; bishop's agent to the
Everett, Washington, congregation; Seattle Stake high council; assistant to the
Seattle Stake bishop; editor of the Seattle Stake Sound newsletter; Boise
District director of evangelism; and lead planner for two Pacific Northwest
Region Aaronic Priesthood retreats.
He is married to Jeanne Marie (Sundell) Davis. They have three children,
Michael, Jacob, and Julie. His hobbies include bicycling, woodworking, and
helping his wife with her watercolor business.
