Volunteer Ministries

I would like to sound a call for a new wave of volunteering . . . particularly in response to the need for volunteers at International Headquarters and at Historic Sites.

Calling All Volunteers, article by Stephen M. Veazey

There are many ways volunteers can provide significant ministry. Volunteers provide valuable service at Community of Christ International Headquarters in Independence, Missouri. Some of the areas of opportunity include: receptionist, tour guide, Ikebana flower arranging, library assistants, chaplain services, and daily prayer for peace.

Serving at International Headquarters

As President Veazey mentioned in his article, volunteers serve as guides, gardeners, maintenance, housekeeping, and retail sales at the Community of Christ historic sites—Kirtland, Ohio; Liberty Hall in Lamoni, Iowa; Nauvoo, Illinois.

World Service Corps

There are opportunities for both short-term and long-term worldwide volunteer service through the World Service Corps.

Serving through World Service Corps

New opportunities continue to emerge. If you do not see a position that you desire, we encourage you to call and suggest ways the church could benefit from your abilities.
