Auditorium

On the edge of the plaza is an iron sculpture of a man beating a sword into a plowshare as a child watches.

Beyond the sculpture to the southwest is the Community of Christ Auditorium. Construction of this unique domed building began in 1926 but progress was slowed by the Great Depression. It was ultimately finished in 1962.

The west entrance to the Auditorium, added in the 1990s, provides a contemporary appearance to the building.

The 5800-seat oval Conference Chamber is home to the large worship services and business meetings of the church's biennial World Conference.

Translations are provided from glassed-in control rooms on the east side of the Conference Chamber.

The pipes of the magnificent Aeolian-Skinner organ are the visual centerpiece of the Chamber. The largest pipes are 40 feet/12 meters tall; the smallest are smaller than a pencil.
