Welcome today to this sacred place. Each day in this Temple dedicated to the pursuit of peace, we pray to God for peace in our world. In addition, each day we pray for a different country.

Today we will remember the people of the Netherlands in our prayers. Located in Western Europe, the Netherlands is a modern, industrialized nation and a large exporter of agricultural products. The country was a founding member of NATO and the European Community, and participated in the introduction of the euro in 1999.

As we meet together, let the God of all people guide our worship so that we may be able to say, "Yes, Lord, it is good to meet with you. Enlighten us and teach us, we pray."

Scripture Reading - Doctrine and Covenants 162:3a-b

You are called to create pathways in the world for peace in Christ to be relationally and culturally incarnate. The hope of Zion is realized when the vision of Christ is embodied in communities of generosity, justice, and peacefulness. Above all else, strive to be faithful to Christ’s vision of the peaceable Kingdom of God on earth. Courageously challenge cultural, political, and religious trends that are contrary to the reconciling and restoring purposes of God. Pursue peace.

O Lord of all creation,

We meet you in this sacred time to express the yearning in our hearts for peace.
Enfold each of us with your mantel of great inner calm as we live in an age of confusion.
Show us the real and lasting truths of your peace that we may share with others.

There is a great concern that all might be treated with humanity, as individuals, as equals. Grant that we may choose the best paths to alleviate this suffering.

May we seek out and acknowledge the divine in every creature of your world.
Give us the discerning wisdom to leave open areas in our hearts for our differences. Teach us tolerance.

Help us to always uphold the image of Jesus Christ, your Son, in whose name we pray.

Amen.

We conclude our service today with Ministry of Music. We invite you to remain in the quiet of this place to pray or meditate for as long as you may wish.

Let us go from this place and keep our resolves to create peace in our world. Let us not be the cause of disharmony, but musicians in the concert of peace. Go forth assured that the God of peace will walk with you. Amen.
