USA National Day of Prayer Vigil at the Temple
The Lord Jesus proclaimed, “My house shall be called a house of prayer
for all the nations” (Mark 11:17).
In keeping with the USA National Day of Prayer this year, Thursday, May 7,
the Community of Christ Temple will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to anyone
wishing to come pray.
This is a special opportunity for individuals and groups to worship in the
sacred space of the Temple Sanctuary, to share in the spirit of prayer, to be
still and know, and to hear the still small voice.
We will uphold a continuous “Presence of Prayer” for the entire 12-hour vigil.
The Daily Prayer for Peace worship will be held from 1 to 1:15 p.m. in the
Sanctuary and is always open to all.
Please share this invitation with your congregations, neighbors, family, and
friends. If you cannot join us at the Temple, seek out an event in your area
through the National Day of Prayer Web site at
www.ndptf.org/custom/events/eventSearch/.
4/21/09 update: We are inviting Community of Christ
congregations to sign up for a specific hour and come together as a church
family to pray. We hope to have several congregations there for each of
the twelve hours to maintain a continuous congregational prayer presence.
Sign up your congregation by
contacting Rich Baldwin.
