Serving Steadfastly

In the small town of Wainwright, Alberta, Canada, lives Freda Burton, a longtime Community of Christ member. Although near no congregation, she continues to serve and give willingly of her talents in the name of Christ.

Throughout her life, she has taught piano and violin lessons, sung, and conducted choirs. Music flows through her, enlivening her life and faith.

In 2008 she wrote a Christmas song and wove it into a cantata with Christmas carols and a narration of her own creation. In 2010, she produced the cantata in the senior citizens care center where she lives. Spending her energy for the Lord, Freda shared her talent fervently, not only directing the cantata, but playing the violin.

At the time, Freda was 97.
