Audience: Middle School students – Grades 6-8
Setting: Small group with an adult leader. Material is
written for gender specific groups, but can be used for co-ed groups as well.
Scope: In four, one-hour sessions, students will begin to
comprehend three basic facts about money:
- The three sources of money.
- The three things you can do with money.
- The role God should play in money decisions.
Purpose: This text is recommended for helping middle school
students think through their money decisions. Middle school students are at
the perfect age to start learning that managing money is a responsibility
given by God. Before they open checking accounts, before credit card offers
appear, this is a chance to teach Godly financial instruction. Unless they
learn how to keep track of money and use it properly, they will never be able
to be the stewards God has called them to be.
Summary: This small-group curriculum is set up in a simple,
user-friendly manner based on stories, starter questions, Bible verses, and
activities to help students grasp the concepts taught through the Three Key
Questions. The leader guide includes weekly goals and step-by-step instruction
to help lead each week's lesson. Original copies of student handouts are
available for leader to copy for student use, or they can be purchased for an
additional cost.
Contents:
Week One: Where does money come from?
Week Two: What can I do with money?
Week Three: Whose Money is it, anyway?
Week Four: Putting it all Together
