of Invitations
In Evergreen, Alabama, the message of Christ’s peace is heard and
proclaimed in ways that erase boundaries and bring about the blessings
of community. Through a series of circumstances and his sense of
concern, Edwin Booker and his wife became “godparents” to Damaja and KK
when the girls were three and five years old.
They quickly won the hearts of the Evergreen congregation as they and
their friend, Autumn, share Christ’s peace with friends and family.
Last February Damaja, now ten years old, was the only youth participant
in a training event sponsored by the mission center. When asked why she
attended, Damaja responded, “When I heard it was a day with Community of
Christ people from all over, I knew I wanted to be there. It’s like
family.”
