Format Options

The Good $ense Budget Course can be presented successfully in a number of delivery formats.

Seven Sessions (pdf, 21kb) Two Sessions One-day Workshop

Six Sessions One- to Three-day Retreats

Six Sessions - 50 minutes each

Teaching the session over six weeks gives participants time to absorb material and put into practice what they have learned each week. If you teach the course over six weeks, plan on at least one hour for each session. This way you will be able to allow extra time for completing activities and answering questions.

Two Sessions - 3 hours and 30 minutes each

By teaching sessions 1, 2, and 3 together, and then teaching sessions 4, 5, and 6 together, you can effectively present the course in two sessions. If you present the course in this format, allow at least one hour for each session with a 10-minute break after the first session and a 20-minute break after the second session.

One-, Two-, or Three-day Retreats

In a retreat format you have flexibility to present the material to accommodate your schedule.

One-day Workshop

There are six, 50-minute sessions in this course, which total approximately 5 hours of content, plus time for the A Disciple's Generous Response overview. In a one-day format, you would also need to allow time for lunch (45 to 60 minutes) and breaks. Short breaks (5 to 10 minutes) are recommended following sessions 1 and 4; longer breaks (15 to 20 minutes) are recommended following sessions 2 and 5. You may wish to use the following as a suggested schedule:

10:00-10:50 a.m. Session 2: Earning, Giving, and Saving

10:50-11:10 a.m. Break

11:10-Noon Session 3: Saving and Debt

Noon-1:00 p.m. Lunch

1:00-1:50 p.m. Session 4: Spending

1:50-2:00 p.m. Break

2:00-2:50 p.m. Session 5: Balancing the Spending Plan

2:50-3:10 p.m. Break

3:10-4:00 p.m. Session 6: Record Keeping and Commitment
