Central USA Mission Center—Shine!

Each Sunday we are invited to “share equally” with Mission Tithes for local and world ministries. These stories are provided to keep us in touch with how your contributions to Mission Tithes are spreading the peace of Jesus Christ.

This story, Shine, takes us to the Central USA Mission Center. Greg Savage relates: Each day I am reminded of the generosity of devoted disciples throughout the Community of Christ who contribute to World Ministries Mission Tithes and Oblation. I am acutely aware that these funds make it possible for me to provide ministry as pastor to the Stone Church and to serve as the associate financial officer in the Central Mission Center. One of my roles is to help coordinate Oblation Fund distribution.

I recently talked with a sister who needs to travel a distance to receive correct, quality medical treatment. Because of her ailment, she cannot work. She doesn’t have a car and, without the Oblation support she receives, she could not afford public transportation. She expressed over and over her appreciation for the help she receives from people who don’t even know her. She feels a part of Christ’s community. C. Blessing on Our Offering

From III Nephi 5:63 we read: Therefore let your light so shine before this people, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Sharing our Mission Tithes equally between local and world ministries changes our lives and those who receive the blessings from it. Let us share in the prayer of blessing for our offering.
