A. World Ministries Mission Tithes Update
The church received an estimated $700,000 in World Ministries Mission Tithes
in October 2008, $95,000 less than we needed to balance the budget. Four months
into the fiscal year, we are 6 percent behind the goal of $10.5 million for the
year. Noting that in three of the four months this fiscal year the church has
received considerably less than what is needed, we wish to make sure that our
members are aware that if the trend continues we may not be able to fulfill our
mission plans this year.
During this time of global financial downturn, we are making every effort to
manage expenses and to insure that your tithing contributions are directed to
essential functions and ministries. Your continued generosity is allowing the
following ministries around the world to be possible.
• Full-time field ministers are providing relief ministry in response to
500-year flooding in Iowa
• Missionary outreach is fostering a church plant in Eudora, Kansas
• Full-time local ministers are working with International Friendship Clubs in
Russia
Thank you for responding faithfully by sharing so very generously.
B. Congregational Ministries Mission Tithes Update: Local
The congregational financial officer should give an update about the
congregation’s budget at this time. Highlight positive things that have happened
in addition to items that need attention.

C. Blessing on Our Offering
From Psalm 126:3 (NRSV) we read: The Lord has done great things for us, and
we rejoiced.
Sharing our Mission Tithes equally between local and world ministries changes
our lives and those who receive the blessings from it. Let us share in the
prayer of blessing for our offering.
